FELICITY Warburton fought off the boys to claim gold for Droitwich's Kazoku-Kan Judo Club in the Mix and Match competition.
Warburton won her category from an otherwise all-male line up at Birmingham's Erdington Academy, coming up against some tough competition but holding her own.
Club-mate Dylan Moore, despite being one of the smallest and lightest in his category, managed a stunning backwards counter throw to earn a bronze medal.
Matthew Kenny gave his opponents a rough time to walk away with bronze as well.
Joshua Warburton, showing true grit, fought his way to bronze.
Liam Jones, in his second senior contest, faced much higher-graded opponents but showed he belongs in the tougher categories with a bronze medal.
Head instructor Rich Morrish said: βIt never fails to bring a smile to my face to see the grace and positive attitude these kids bring to these events.
"They are a joy to teach and showing that training pays off.
"Our instructing team are very proud of their accomplishments and they are a credit to the club.β
Kazoku-Kan train every Friday at their new base of St Peter's First School from 6.30pm.
