OLD Vigornians made it six successive victories with a 99-run win at Pershore seconds.

The Worcester side stay second to keep up the pressure on Worcestershire Cricket League Division Three leaders Netherton.

Osman Fiaz made a match-winning century — his first ton since 2017 — before retiring hurt due to heatstroke.

Joe Sullivan (64) and Henry Armstrong (54 not out off 43 balls) also punished the bowlers as OVs made 276-6 from 50 overs after choosing to bat first.

Fiaz’s 101 from 103 balls included 11 fours and a six.

Pershore were never really in with a chance, losing regular wickets.

The experienced Lee Wilks (59) added some respectability but the Plums were dismissed for 177 in 47.2 overs.

Jabba Riaz (2-32) continued his good form while Ed Burgoyne and Ahsan Fiaz each took two wickets and Alex Parker 2-17 from 10 overs.

Parker is the club’s leading wicket-taker with 17 at an average of just 6.12.

Eighteen-year-olds Ali Robb and Josh Moorhouse picked up their first OVs wickets.

Barnards Green seconds beat lowly Rushwick by three wickets to move fourth.

Stuart Parker scored 59 in Rushwick’s 186 all out with Jack Mackintosh claiming 5-25.

Opener Harvey Smedley (47) top scored in the winning reply of 190-7 in 37.4 overs despite 4-31 from Lewis Hooper.

Fifth-placed Martley, assisted by Tom Vale (75) and Oliver Dunks (6-44), returned to winning ways by 42 runs at Old Elizabethans seconds.

A few poor periods cost OEs dear after they chose to bowl first. Ben Hawkes bowled opener Simon van Tongeren for a duck.

But Alex Basford (20) did well before being run out by Vale who built a steady partnership with captain James Ganderton (32).

However, the spinners squeezed Martley and Hawkes (3-52) returned to take two more wickets.

A useful 10th-wicket stand dragged Martley to 218 all out helped by 37 extras.

Kevin Gwynne claimed 2-39, Will French 2-45 and Preejith Vatakkedath 1-32.

But OEs fell short with the last four wickets going for 21 in their 176 all out despite skipper Tony Rees’ 42no.

Nathan Dobbins added 37 as Dunks and Vale (3-33) took the bulk of the wickets.
