WORCESTER footballer Alex Bradley has earned a contract at League One club Lincoln City following his departure from West Bromwich Albion.

The 20-year-old midfielder spent 13 years at the Baggies but a lack of first-team opportunities resulted in becoming “stale” and left at the end of last season.

However, the ex-Royal Grammar School Worcester pupil, from Colwall, was soon offered a chance to train with Lincoln and managed to secure a deal.

He has featured throughout pre-season, scoring in the Imps’ victories over Lincoln United and Leicester City under 23s.

Manager Danny Cowley has been pleased with Bradley’s application in training and explained how his attitude has helped him fit in nicely with the Imps squad.

"Alex has come in from the beginning of pre-season and done really well,” Cowley said.

“He has got an infectious attitude and work ethic.

"It was not a position we were particularly looking to add to, but he has come in and really affected us.

"The plan is to try and create a pathway like we do with all of our young players because in the future he could do very well for us."

Bradley who has also represented Finland at youth level had spells on loan with Havant & Waterlooville and Burton Albion in the 2018-19 campaign.

He was delighted to have made the permanent switch to Lincoln who won the League Two title last season.

"I am buzzing to have signed here," Bradley said.

"Spain was a great pre-season trip and the games before then were good for me.

"It is a great club with huge ambition and I just want to kick on now."
