MANAGER Les Jones says “the door is still open” for veteran midfielder Danny Jackman to join Pershore Town next season.

But Jones admitted Pershore would begin the West Midlands League Premier Division campaign without the ex-Gillingham and Northampton Town ace in their plans.

Jackman has been training with Pershore this summer and featured in a pre-season friendly against Evesham United.

But Jones said the 36-year-old ex-Worcester City captain who struggled with injury last season was still undecided over his next move.

“He says he is not sure what he wants to do,” Jones said.

“He may join a team or come back to us but at this moment in time he is not with us.

“The door is still open for a player of his quality but realistically we have got to move on.

“Football is a funny game so he might end up playing for Worcester City next week. You never know.”
