PROMOTED Worcester Raiders continued their fine start to life in the West Midlands League Premier Division.

Karl Gormley’s side followed up their 4-3 win at Dudley Town with a 2-1 success at AFC Bridgnorth.

Matt Andrews and Roland Krol scored for Raiders before the hosts pulled back a goal from the penalty spot.

Pershore Town also enjoyed an away success with a 3-1 triumph at Dudley Sports.

Shaun Griffiths, Umit Eminoglu and former Worcester City winger James Baldwin scored the goals.

Bewdley Town hammered Wem Town 8-1 and Littleton powered past Dudley Town 5-0.

Bromsgrove Sporting were unable to mark promotion with a win in their Southern League Premier Division Central opener.

Bromyard Town drew 0-0 at home to Team Dudley at Delahay Meadow.

Barnt Green Spartak, Fairfield Villa and Redditch Borough all lost convincingly in Midland League Division Two.

Spartak went down 4-1 at Boldmere Sports and Social Falcons, Villa fell 4-0 at Coton Green and Borough crashed 5-0 at home to Hampton.

But Feckenham won 6-3 at Lane Head.

Upton Town started life in Division Three with a 2-1 home win over Shipston Excelsior thanks to a Craig Kitchener brace.

But Welland, who have also moved from the Cheltenham League, were thrashed 5-1 by hosts Coventry Plumbing with Dan Sullivan netting a consolation.

Stourport Swifts made FA Cup progress with a 3-1 win at lower-ranked Atherstone Town.

All the goals were scored in the second half of the extra preliminary round tie.

Jim Hanson, Matt Fulloway and Joe Billingham were on target for the Swifts with Brady Middleton pulling back a late consolation goal.

Malvern Town lost 2-1 at home to higher-ranked Whitchurch Alport.

Louis Loader scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-1 at the break after goals from the visitors’ Alex Hughes and Arron Johns.

But Malvern could find an equaliser in the second half despite pushing their opponents all the way.

Westfields drew 1-1 at Congleton Town with Daniel Stoneman scoring, meaning a replay will be required at Allpay Park in Hereford on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, in Hellenic League Division One West Hereford Pegasus went down 5-0 at Stonehouse Town.
