THE new season has barely got started but already Droitwich have plenty to celebrate thanks to the National Rugby Awards.
The hard work and efforts of all have seen the club’s under 10s side nominated in the minis team of the year category of this year’s star-studded event with an awards ceremony set to take place at Twickenham on Thursday.
With boss Iain Thomas arranging a balanced training schedule and a full-on fixture list of club matches, the squad responded with some excellent results.
Their season culminated in a festival at Stourbridge where the two boys’ teams won nine out of 10 games, drawing one without conceding a single try in over 100 minutes of rugby.
The National Rugby Awards recognise the outstanding work done by coaches, players and supporters across the country.
There is no other event which brings together the clubs and players from all the leagues in England from grassroots to elite.
