OMBERSLEY boosted their Birmingham League Premier Division Two promotion charge with a 19-run success over Himley.

Nick Hammond (67 not out), Gareth Andrew (43) and Liam Gwynne (42) saw the hosts to 212-4 in 40 overs.

Himley were set a revised target of 216 in the same number of overs after a first-innings rain interruption.

Greg Wright scored 43 and Worcestershire’s Ollie Westbury 32 as the visitors finished on 196-6.

Barnards Green picked up seven bonus points to avoid relegation despite a three-wicket defeat to Bridgnorth.

Mahaaz Ahmed (105no), Phil Harris (83) and Ryan Tongue (40) fired Green to 292-8 from 50 overs.

But Bridgnorth chased the total down with seven balls left thanks to David Exall (84), Niall Madam (76) and Simon Gregory (44) as Jon Dovey took 3-69.

Rock-bottom Brockhampton lost by 10 wickets after staggering to 150-9 against leaders Harborne.

Nick Powell (37) and Chris Powell (31) did best with the bat but Swapnil Gugale (83no) and Tom Arnold (52no) took just 11.4 overs to reach 151 without loss.

Bromsgrove lost by 54 runs to Oswestry after shipping 256-9 with Warrick Fynn scoring 117 and Xavier Clarke 44.

Jack Taylor took 4-51 before getting 63 in a second-wicket stand of 119 with Ashley Newfield (67).

Faced with a revised target of 251 in 48 overs, Bromsgrove finished short on 197 all out in 42.2 overs as Clarke took 4-38.

Kidderminster need one more win from their last two games to dodge the drop from Division One.

They lost by seven wickets to Dorridge after an unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 152 by Joe Dodd (72no) and David Ball (66no).

Kidderminster were dismissed for 173 in 36.4 overs with  Joe Miszkowski (48) top scoring.

Due to rain, Dorridge had a revised target of 176 from 38 overs.

Third-placed Barnt Green lost by two wickets to Knowle and Dorridge after being bowled out for 211.

Knowle knocked off a revised target of 216 for the loss of eight wickets with four balls left.

Jacques Banton scored 57 and Zain Ul-Hassan 41 for Green while Ethan Brookes took 3-26.

Knowle’s Alex Phillips hit 51, Jack Grundy 32no, Sam Reddish 32 and Blake Coburn 31 with Darrel Williams claiming 3-27.
