WORCESTER moved up to sixth in the Worcestershire Cricket League Premier Division with a six-wicket win at Redditch Entaco in fourth.

Luke Deeprose (5-43) returned to form as he helped set up victory with Redditch bowled out for 133 before the reply of 134-4 was guided by Mark Jones (62 not out) and Bryn Evans (52no).

Old Elizabethans gained seven points from a losing draw at Stourport with both sides safe just above the relegation zone.

Stourport scored 246-7 with Wandile Nciweni hitting 71no and Andrew Siwicki 62 before OEs held on with 181-9 as Ted Goodwin scored 71 and Sam Harn 46.

Pershore got 16 points from a winning draw at Old Hill who scraped by with 114-9 in reply to 159-9.

Stephen Miles took 6-19 from 12 overs for Pershore.

Stourbridge continue to lead the table by seven points after a four-wicket win at relegated Evesham while second-placed Astwood Bank defeated Bewdley by five wickets.

Bank host Stourbridge on Saturday in a title showdown.

Bromyard, who saw off Oldswinford and Stourbridge Social by seven wickets after bowling them out for 71, took over at the top of Division One by just one point after leaders Colwall lost by 105 runs at home to Belbroughton.

Droitwich Spa secured a precious maximum-point win at relegated Bredon to climb above Worcester Nomads who are five points adrift after a winning draw at Cookley in a rain-reduced match.

Spa won by one wicket after getting 174-9 in reply to 173-6 as captain Martyn Davies scored 53 and took 3-49.

Ryan D’Oliveira (6-28) led long-time leaders Ombersley seconds to the Division Two title as they swept aside second-placed Lye by 37 runs.

In a rain-reduced game unbeaten Ombersley posted 173-9 before D’Oliveira ripped the heart out of the Lye batting.

Enville beat Himbleton by one wicket thanks to a crucial last-wicket stand in a low-scoring match despite Rob Perrins’ 4-24.

Chris Drew led Old Vigornians to a nail-biting four-wicket victory at Stourbridge seconds as the Worcester club went up to second in Division Three.

Drew made 89 after the hosts scored 205-9 on choosing to bat with teenager spinner Ed Burgoyne taking 5-44 alongside two wickets each for Angus Guthrie and Alex Parker.

In a patient innings, Drew shared a third-wicket stand of 51 with Ciaran Magee (26) and 80 for the sixth with James Bader (40 not out).

Barnards Green seconds slipped out of the promotion places after losing by three wickets at Old Elizabethans seconds.

OEs scored 157-7 in reply to 156-9 with Chris Pearman scoring 46 and Jake Greenbank claiming 4-42.

Ben Sutton took 4-50 for Green but the Worcester side won in 46.1 overs.

Kempsey moved back into promotion contention in fifth with a 38-run win over Old Hill seconds.

The hosts managed 221-9 with Matt Walters (40) top scoring before Adam Baker (4-60) and Joe Worthington (3-29) helped bowl Hill out for 183.

Wayne Newman (5-46) helped Rushwick secure a vital seven-wicket win against Avoncroft to gain breathing space at the bottom end of the table.

Rushwick scored 185-3 in reply to 183 all out with Dan Metcalfe hitting 56, Duncan Cooper 44 and Paul Wyatt 37no.

Alex Brunt earlier got 68 for Croft.

In Division Four, Worcester seconds closed the gap on leaders Harborne who lost by six wickets to Stourport.

The city side beat visiting Romsley and Hunnington by four wickets in a high-scoring match at Norton.

The visitors amassed 301-7 from 50 overs to provide a daunting target.

But Worcester won in 48.3 overs with 302-6 thanks to Harry Clark (83), Craig Oakley (75) and Dan Keyte (57).

The seconds now require just six points to ensure promotion.

At the foot of Division Five, Droitwich Spa seconds sealed a vital eight-wicket win over Hanley Castle and Upton to move 12 points clear of third-from-bottom Worcester Nomads seconds who lost to Colwall seconds by two wickets.

Tristan Robinson scored 77 for Hanley with Spa’s Phil Thomas claiming 5-42 and Taj Gino 4-27.
