GILES Winthrop was the toast of Worcester Golf and Country Club after equalling a long-standing course record.
The four-handicapper, 21, shot a six-under-par 60 nett in the monthly medal with six birdies to easily win his division.
He equalled Lee Richardson’s record-breaking score in the process.
Winthrop, who has been at Boughton Park since 2014, studies sports business management at Hartpury University and owes a lot of his success to club PGA professional Ian Henry who he has regular lessons with.
