Ombersley and Barnards Green win in Birmingham League

The villagers saw off relegated Tamworth at the weekend by seven wickets with almost 14 overs in hand after removing them for 194.

Jason Jakeman (44) top scored for Tamworth while Jamie Hammond (4-45) and Gareth Andrew (3-30) starred with the ball.

Despite the early loss of Liam Gwynne and Josh Dell there were few alarms for Ombersley thanks to a run-a-ball 101 not out from Worcestershire prospect Jack Haynes.

Barnards Green skittled Halesowen for 37 in winning by 196 runs at North End Lane.

The hosts closed on 233-7 from 50 overs with Ryan Tongue on 74no and Jon Dovey, promoted to open, adding 47.

Eddie Rhodes took 3-27 and skipper Alexei Kervezee 3-52.

The Halesowen reply saw no one reach double figures. They were all out in 24.1 overs with Phil Harris claiming 5-15.

Leaders Harborne won by three wickets at Bromsgrove with 17 balls in hand.

Jayden Levitt hit 118 in Bromsgrove’s 232-5 in 50 overs but 60 from Tom Payne left Harborne within one victory of the title.

Tom Russell took 3 for 42 as Bromsgrove dropped into the bottom half of the table.

Dominic Badger posted 72 in Brockhampton’s 173 all out against Bridgnorth in 46.4 overs. Sam Whitney (4-34) and David Exall (3-30) shone with the ball.

In reply, Bridgnorth slipped to 125-5 before Adam Quiney fired 44no from 32 balls for a five-wicket success.

County seamer Adam Finch took 4-9 in Wolverhampton’s 96-run win over Oswestry.

Kidderminster are safe from the drop in Division One after a seven-wicket win at Kenilworth Wardens.

The hosts reached 259-6 through Mohammed Haroon (68), Nathan Edwards (59no) and Richard Linfield (51).

An opening partnership of 159 between Connor Smith (113) and Andrew Kimberlin (70) paved the way as Kidderminster crossed the line on 260-3 with more than nine overs left.

Moseley dodged the drop with a 100-run success at Barnt Green despite 5-47 from Adam Hines.

Green were bowled out for 84 in reply to 184.
