OPENER Mat Pratley scored his first century but Hanley Castle and Upton lost to Malvern by one wicket in a Worcestershire League Division Five thriller.

Pratley hit 102 not out and Rory Mathews 56 in Hanley's 227-6 from 50 overs with Tom Fairclough taking 3-43.

But Malvern produced a spirited reply and got home in 45.5 overs with a victorious 231-9.

Anthony Arnold scored 50 and Connor Walwyn 48 with Tony Hutchings' 5-41 not enough to win it for Hanley.
