LATE summer sun greeted Worcester Dragons for the final BDA National League race of the season at Manvers Lake in South Yorkshire.

A competitive and enjoyable day's racing ended with Dragons finishing third in the major cup final in the mixed 200-metre sprint and second in the minor cup final for the mixed 400m race.

Worcester earned enough points in Wath upon Dearne to secure second place in the mixed premier league in only their first season since promotion.

Meanwhile, there was a first place for Pershore Phoenix in the open 450m major plate final against Powerhouse and St Neots.

Pershore Flyers, their women's crew, finished in fourth place.

Junior racers from the town, as well as competing in the open competition, took medals in their section on the way.
