COLTS rugby returned to Worcester after last year's absence with visitors Luctonians winning 33-24 at Weston's Fields.
Fielding a team of mainly under 17s in the under 18s contest, Worcester showed plenty of spirit, skill and determination.
Lucs camped in the home 22 for most of the first half but were met by dogged defence.
Worcester repelled every attack with full-back Nate Atkins making two try-saving tackles.
The home side broke away in response but had a try disallowed for crossing.
However, Jake Wright sprinted up the field to score the opener only for Lucs to respond quickly, making it 5-5 at the break.
The visitors seized on a slow Worcester start in the second half with two unanswered tries.
Worcester's heads did not drop though and loosehead prop James Whitelaw dived over the top to score a try which was converted by Richie Durie.
Another burst forward from Wright ended with an offload to Todd Charlton who safely gathered to score.
But Lucs retaliated with another try before Wright got the final try of the match.
