PERSHORE Hockey Club's men lost 6-1 at Wolverhampton in their second West Midlands Division One game of the season.
The visitors put on early pressure and created chances but Wolverhampton's high pressing tactic saw them take over.
By the 20-minute mark the hosts had scored four with two from short corners and the others in open play with luck on their side.
Pershore composed themselves and were unlucky not to score with Tony Handley and Richard Stocks denied by the keeper.
Pershore were awarded a series of penalty corners but only converted one with Handley smashing it to the right of the keeper.
Wolverhampton responded before the end of the first half to lead 5-1.
Pershore put in a much-improved display in the second period but were kept out by the keeper and his defence.
The game became more open and with 10 minutes to go Wolverhampton converted another short corner to complete the scoring.
Pershore, who thrashed Tamworth 9-2 in their opening game of the season, visit Stafford on Saturday.
