DROITWICH Spa Cricket Club captain Max Young grabbed a five-fer of a different kind at the club’s awards presentation evening.
The skipper, who subject to confirmation from the Worcestershire League guided Spa to Division One safety, was presented with five trophies at a well-attended event at St Andrews Town Hotel.
Young received the first XI player of the year awards as well as accolades for most runs and wickets and the club’s top fielder.
His 133 not out and three wickets against Hagley was chosen as the performance of the season.
The other main recipient was Benjamin Foster who collected a hat-trick of trophies including third XI player of the year and a brace of bowling awards.
Second XI skipper Karl Goddard and 16-year-old Archie Fenn picked up two awards apiece.
Tony Phillips was clubman of the year for his management of Spa’s Allstars programme.
Bar officer Ralph Davies’ hard work off the pitch was rewarded with the President’s Award.
