NEW director Michael Davies was among a number of supporters to give their verdict on Worcester Warriors’ display in the Gallagher Premiership win over Leicester Tigers.

Davies started working at Sixways this week after joining the club’s board from Wycombe Wanderers Football Club. He has also previously worked for London Welsh and World Rugby.

Michael Davies (@mikeodavies).

For my first experience at Sixways…only two previous opening day wins in the Premiership...asbolutely delighted.

Andrew Page (@PageAndrewJ).

To get four points from such a poor performance is a real bonus. Both teams were lacklustre and appeared very nervous. Three hard games coming up and need to put in much improved team performances to pick up points. Ted and Cornell the standout players.

Alex Hill (@Zander1967).

Despite the best efforts of the ref we won, ugly is good in such overwhelming myopicness. One team tried to play rugby.

Dawley18 (@Dawley2012).

Not pretty at times but job done.

Edd Cantle (@EddCantle).

A win is a win and we would have most likely lost that game in the past. We had opportunities for more, but we just did enough. Team looked solid, liked the new signings, just need to tidy up some of the loose passes and we will march on.

Geoff Shaw (@gshawisme).

Not the best performance but a win and four points in the first game when not playing well is welcome. This team can and will get better and good to see Nanai in blue and gold at Sixways.

Phil Roberts (@philrob89).

Few disciplinary blips but we would have lost that in the past. Good result and we can build from here! Melani looks like a beast.

Sixways Gold & Blue (@SixwaysGnB).

We won ugly, which is good. But am slightly worried as Tigers had nine players out and we still struggled to overcome their game plan. Saying that, we mucked up a few try-scoring chances which would have made it seem far rosier. All-in-all, do well versus Saints and it’s a superb start.

Jake Davies (@BridgnorthBaloo).

Great result. Not a perfect performance. Love to build on a winning foundation. Ted just gets better and better. Thought Niall carried well.

AJ Bailey ™ (@ajbails).

Looked nervous in the first half and gave away some silly penalties, but the second half we looked solid. Still a lot to work on, but replacements did very well. Pens also linked well with Melani and Ted & Cornell are absolutely outstanding players! They’re beasts going forward!

AlexWennen (@WennenAlex).

Need to cut out the silly mistakes on the 10m line. Could have scored more and will have to be better as the season goes on. But a big win for us and we showed a lot of guts and grit to see that game out! Well done Worcester!
