STRIKER Demetri Brown is poised to face former club Tividale when he returns for Worcester City on Saturday (3pm).
Brown was ruled out of City’s midweek 1-0 home defeat to Coventry United due to a dead leg and a virus.
Manager Ashley Vincent said he was “touch and go” for Wednesday’s clash but decided to rest him in preparation for the Midland League Premier Division clash at Packwood Road.
“He had a dead leg and a bit of an ear, nose and throat infection,” Vincent said. “It was a precaution to keep him away altogether to ensure we don’t lose him for more than one game.
“If we had risked him with a dead leg and a virus and he pulled up then that could become two or three games. I was not willing to do that as he is a big player.”
Full-back Jamie Smith is also expected to be in contention despite being an unused substitute against United due to a “sore” back. Vincent added: “Jamie put himself forward which I admire about him.”
