MATTY Patrick-Rivers has exhibited the Midas touch, scoring twice with virtually the last kick to bring victories for Worcester City Youth in two exciting games.

His brace, including a superb left-foot curler at the death, took City top of the Midland Floodlit Youth League Southern Premier Division with a 3-2 win at Stourbridge where Cam Monteith also netted.

In Saturday’s Total Motion Midland Football League Under 21 West Division fixture against AFC Birmingham, Patrick-Rivers kept his cool in the final seconds once again when he calmly rounded the keeper to slot home his second in a 4-3 triumph.

Tristan Webby and Cam Monteith had earlier opened up a 2-0 lead for City before the visitors squared the game midway through the second half.

Patrick-Rivers put the hosts back in front but Birmingham scored again and looked to have pinched a point only to be thwarted by the striker’s last-gasp heroics.

In the Midland Football League Reserve Division, City’s fixture against Uttoxeter Town was the only game to survive the weather.

Aaron Brett continued his prolific form with four goals and Jacob Keane and Matt Ennis were also on target in a 6-3 success.

Another player in impressive form in front of goal was Harry Rebbeck who hit seven for the under 14s in their best performance of the season so far in the Nerf Junior Premier League.

Rebbeck benefited from some fantastic supply from his team-mates as well as his own fine finishing in a 9-2 triumph over Cirencester Town with Guy Collett and an own goal completing the scoring.

Without a JPL match, the under 12s maintained their winning run with a 3-2 friendly victory over Tamworth side St John’s thanks to Ashton Doyle (2) and Raph Green.

Worcester City Ladies produced a much-improved display as they shared the West Midlands League Premier Division spoils with Stockingford AA Pavilion in a 1-1 draw with Jess Jenkins on the mark.
