MALVERN Cycle Sport's Harry Cockroft secured success in round six of the Lazer Shimano West Midlands Cyclo-Cross League.

After taking several podium places this season Cockroft took a home victory in the under 16s boys’ race at Top Barn, Holt Heath.

He was joined throughout the race by Fred Meredith (Hafren CC) until surging clear on the final lap while Griff Lewis (Ystwyth CC) was third.

Wet weather the previous day made for soft ground conditions around the University of Worcester Lakeside Campus despite less mud than in previous weeks.

In the veterans' 40 to 49 year category, Malvern's Ed Moseley was second behind Jason McNulty (Royal Leamington Spa CC) but ahead of Colin Miller (Ride Coventry).

Malvern's Tracy Moseley (T-MO Racing) took third in the women's veteran category.

In the youth girls’ event Malvern Cycle Sport's Hannah Cockroft won ahead of Mari Porton (Redditch Road & Path CC) and Ella Tandy (Solihull CC).
