WORCESTER City bid to finish off 2019 in style with two quick-fire games over the festive season.

Ashley Vincent’s side host Haughmond on Boxing Day (3pm) before heading to rivals Highgate United on Saturday (3pm) with both sides just below City in the table.

The fixtures will give 11th-placed Worcester a chance to break into the top half of the Midland Football League Premier Division.

City’s visit to lowly Lye Town last Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and it followed two games in three days.

The Victoria Ground tenants hit back to draw 2-2 at home to Highgate on December 14 with goals from Jordan Harrison and Marco Adaggio.

But City were then unable to make up a deficit after again falling behind at Boldmere St Michaels despite goals from Sean Brain and Adaggio.

Stourport Swifts will aim to keep up the league form that has propelled them to fifth in the table when Sporting Khalsa visit Walshes Meadow on Boxing Day (1pm).

A big National League North derby awaits on Boxing Day when Kidderminster Harriers welcome Hereford FC to Aggborough (3pm).

The Bulls have extended teenage forward Taylor Allen’s loan from Forest Green Rovers into a third month until the end of January.

Hereford manager Russell Slade says form will go out of the window for the clash with keeper Brandon Hall returning to his former club.

The 13th-placed Bulls are without a league win in nine games since October 1 but remain one position and two points ahead of Harriers who have climbed the table under new boss Jimmy Shan.

“I love local derbies,” said Slade.

“In local derbies everything goes out the window as well. It doesn’t matter what form you are in.

“I hope it is entertaining but above all let’s try to get three points.

“We’ve been a bit unfortunate in the last three games when performances have been solid to say the least.”

In Southern League Premier Division Central, high-flying Bromsgrove Sporting make the short trip to Alvechurch and Redditch United go to Stourbridge (both 3pm).

Evesham United entertain Cirencester Town in Division One South (3pm).

Hellenic League Premier Division leaders Westfields are on the road at Lydney Town (1pm).
