BROMSGROVE Sporting scored three second-half goals to win their Southern League Premier Division Central derby 4-1 at 10-man Alvechurch.

The experienced Kyle Perry headed struggling Church ahead after just seven minutes from a free-kick watched by 897 fans at Lye Meadow.

Sporting keeper Daniel Platt came off injured to be replaced by Max Beardmore with Perry also forced off after a collision between the pair.

And the visitors levelled just before half-time when forward Michael Taylor finished off a through-ball from another former Worcester City player in Nathan Hayward.

Sporting took just three minutes of the second period to go ahead for the first time when Richard Gregory fired home Taylor's nod-down.

Church went down to 10 men on the hour when Joe Hull was sent off against his former club for a second yellow card after clattering Beardmore.

And Josh Quaynor stunned the hosts with a 30-yarder into the top corner to make it 3-1 on 75 minutes.

The points were secured 10 minutes from time by second-placed Sporting through Gregory's penalty after Quaynor was brought down in the box.

Sporting are just two points behind leaders Tamworth but have played three games more.

Bottom-of-the-table Redditch United gave an improved display, especially defensively, but went down 1-0 at Stourbridge in another West Midlands derby.

Only Chay Tilt’s powerful shot on 53 minutes separated the teams.

The Reds remain four points behind Church who have two games in hand.

Evesham United drew 0-0 at home to fellow promotion hopefuls Cirencester Town in Division One South.

The visitors went close but so did the Robins with Paul Sullivan hitting the bar on 22 minutes before Lee Chilton's follow-up header was cleared off the line.

Hellenic League Premier Division leaders Westfields drew 2-2 at Lydney Town.

Stourport Swifts' Midland League Premier Division clash with Sporting Khalsa was postponed due to a waterlogged Walshes Meadow pitch.

Fairfield Villa's Division Two home encounter with Feckenham was also called off as was Inkberrow's fixture with Enville Athletic in Division Three.
