OLLIE Lawrence bagged a hat-trick within 11 first-half minutes as Warriors roared back to demolish Enisei-STM 66-10 in the European Challenge Cup at Sixways.

Warriors scored 10 tries in total to keep alive hopes of qualification heading into Friday’s final match at home to Castres.

STAR MAN, PLAYER RATINGS & MATCH STATS: Warriors 66 Enisei-STM 10

AS IT HAPPENED: Warriors 66 Enisei-STM 10

Lawrence was joined on the score sheet by Scott van Breda, Isaac Miller, Jamie Shillcock, Noah Heward (2) and Will Butler as Warriors battled back from an unlikely early deficit to punish an ever-tiring Enisei side.

After Dragons lost to Castres in the other game in the pool, the French side lead the group with 18 points, three ahead of Dragons and Warriors.

It was a sloppy opening 20 minutes from the Warriors despite going ahead through van Breda, slipping behind after Enisei scored a try through winger Bjorn Basson and a conversion and penalty from Ramil Gaisin.

Worcester gradually started to find their rhythm and two Lawrence tries in four minutes, both of which coming from Shillcock pulling the strings on the edge of the 22, turned things around.

Lawrence completed his hat-trick a few minutes later to bring up the bonus point by half-time and Warriors kicked on in the second-half with six more scores.

Mama emerged from a driving maul with the fifth before Shillcock got in on the act, surging down the left as the Russians scrambled to retreat.

Miller made the most of some sloppy play in an attempt to clear with replacement Heward gifted a try by Shillcock’s sumptuous pass from left of centre to the right channel.

Butler and Heward eased over as the gaps emerged late in the day to add gloss to the score, Shillcock finishing eight out of 10 conversions in a stellar all-round display.

It sets up a bonus-point-win-or-bust clash with Castres to attempt to qualify, probably as one of the three best runners-up from the five pools.
