MALVERN Town have launched a campaign called TARGET 200+ as they look to attract another bumper crowd to Saturday’s home game with Tytherington Rocks (3pm).

Gates have been up after the redevelopment of the HDanywhere Community Stadium was finished in November.

Last weekend’s 6-1 win over fellow Hellenic League Division One West high-fliers Thornbury Town attracted 217 fans.

“To have over 200 people through the gate was brilliant and it helped to up our game,” admitted co-manager Lee Hooper.

“We’re regularly in the top-five attendances for this level of football in the whole country and it is a great effort from the local community.

“Hopefully more and more people will come along to see what is happening here and this level of support will really help in our quest to take the league title.

“As a club we want to reach out and embrace all members of the local community.

"We have received plenty of praise for the match-day experience that we offer here. It’s a welcoming environment and there is a really positive atmosphere around the place.

“We’ve always had a superbly loyal hardcore of fans who follow the team home and away, to whom we are extremely grateful, and now we urge others to come along and give us a try.

"We want people to spread the word — bring your family and friends because this club is really going places.

“In our 11 home games since the stadium reopened there have been a total of 76 goals so you certainly get entertained here!”
