WORCESTERSHIRE Virtue Dodgeball Club’s under 14s team went undefeated to win the British Open.

The under 16s team claimed silver and later won two league games against Leicester and Burton to move up the National League table to second place.

The age group’s development squad also gained valuable experience at the British Open.

Worcestershire women’s team made their long-anticipated debut, just narrowly losing two of their four games.

“Their debut was spectacular,” said club founder and head coach Brian Williams.

“Most teams lose by a great margin in their first tournament but our women defied the odds and came away looking like a solid unit.

“Nobody believed they would win a game so to come very close to winning is a massive achievement”.

The promotion-chasing men’s team maintained their position on top of the National League Two table with solid victories over Bedford, Wessex and London teams.

They also entered two teams in the British Open but both the Empire senior squad and Slayers development squad were put into experienced categories and did not quite qualify for the play-offs.

Worcestershire’s Empire team missed out by just four points.

The adult mixed team pulled off a huge win over Manchester in League One but lost to Nottingham.

Worcestershire players train at various venues including in Worcester and Droitwich Spa.
