OUTGOING The Worcestershire captain Jerry Hibbert held an evening with former Wolves football ace and guest speaker Steve Kindon.

Hibbert has enjoyed a successful year and the final event raised more than £1,200 towards his chosen charity What Makes You Different Makes You Beautiful.

He handed over to new club captain Andrew Longley, the former town rugby coach and skipper, who has chosen St Richard’s Hospice as his charity.

The captain’s drive-in competition was run as two separate shotgun alliances to meet demand including from the club’s ladies.

The morning round enjoyed the better conditions with 90 points winning it for David Fraser, Ian Brazier, Cuth McDowell and Mark Roberts.

Gloomier and windier conditions then made scoring more challenging but Pete Evans, Neil Smith, Phil Park and Stephen Large got 86 to triumph.

In the winter’s final mixed competition, a large field played a greensomes better-ball.

Jackie Marks and Roger Brierly won with 42 from Liz Pool and Peter Hill on 38 and Diane and Paul Meakin on 37.
