KEMPSEY Colts missed out on Worcestershire FA Sunday Under 18s Cup final glory as opponents Meadow Park Youth won 3-1, writes Elliot Yates.

At Malvern Town's HDanywhere Community Stadium both sides started off strongly.

Bromsgrove side Park tested keeper Ciaran McGee while Kempsey showed slick passing movement.

Kempsey’s first chance came when Jay Mullings cut in on his left foot outside the box with the keeper parrying the ball away from his left-hand post.

The half surprisingly ended goalless.

In the second period Park came out all guns blazing.

Ten minutes after the restart Rob Barnett beat the offside trap, going one-on-one with the keeper before tucking it away.

Park then beat the offside trap again and Jake Willis was in the clear to make it 2-0.

Shortly after a third goal was tapped in by Jack Gibson.

A fourth goal was nearly added but McGee saved well.

Kempsey did not give up and the pressure paid off when Euan Lilly drilled his shot into the bottom corner, taking a deflection on the way.

This breathed life into Kempsey who continued to press in the final 10 minutes but Park were crowned champions.
