City said via their twitter channel: "These are uncertain times when we all have to look after every penny, but the generosity by you City fans & the Worcester community has shown what sticking together looks like.
"No new target will be set, but we will continue with amount raised updates."
Club director Luke Cox applauded the generosity shown by everyone who has so far contributed.
“When we last spoke, our original target of £500 had been reached in a matter of days, so we set a new target of £1,000 by the end of the month, and then that was smashed in a week.
"All of us at the football club have been overwhelmed by the support for the initiative and in all honesty just really pleased that the City fans and people of Worcester have pulled together to support the Foodbank, it’s all about them, their staff and volunteers, and the vital service they provide to people who need it.
"This second lockdown and the uncertainty it brings is a difficult time for many when we all have to be sensible with what we spend, so to see this level of generosity is very heart-warming.
"We decided not to set a new target because we want to ensure the focus is on the Foodbank, not us.
"The Sticking Together initiative will continue until the end of the month and we will continue to promote it and provide updates on the amount raised, and those that donate and opt-in to receive their WCFC ultra-stickers for donating will still do so.
"We’re quite simply pleased we have been able to use the platform of the football club to raise much needed funds for the Foodbank, that’s what it’s all about.
"We ask those that haven’t already and are in a position to do so to continue donating, and we’ll see how far this goes.
"The message from me is a sincere thank you to everyone that has contributed to this so far, you’ve been brilliant.”
