WORCESTER Raiders' Worcestershire Senior Invitation Cup fixture with Malvern Town has been postponed until December 15, it was confirmed on Wednesday.

The two clubs were set to do battle on Tuesday December 8 but the cup officials have pushed it back to allow both sides more preparation time.

The postponement comes after Raiders' league season was suspended last week due to covid restrictions in tier three areas affecting a large majority of the West-Midlands (Regional) League.

It was agreed that it was as unsustainable for clubs to continue without supporters and so the suspension will be reviewed when the government take another look at the tier system in two weeks time.

Malvern Town's league season will go ahead as scheduled on December 12 after the Hellenic league confirmed there would be no further suspension to the 2020/21 campaign.

Town have their Buildbase FA Vase second-round clash with Atherstone to play this weekend, which is being played behind closed doors due to Atherstone being in a tier three area.

They will restart their league season next Saturday away at Hereford Pegasus.
