NEWCASTLE Falcons are reportedly monitoring the contract situation with Worcester Warriors' Ollie Lawrence ahead of a potential move for the England international next summer, The Rugby Paper reported on Sunday.

Lawrence, who was selected in England's Six Nations squad on Friday, has a contract that runs until the end of the 2021/22 campaign and a number of clubs will no doubt be keeping an eye on developments.

The 21-year old inside centre signed an extension to his contract last year and no club will be allowed to hold talks with the start player for another year yet.

The Rugby Paper indicated that Lawrence's parents are moving "further north", fuelling any potential link with Newcastle but it remains purely an interest at this point.

In other transfer news, Chris Ashton to Warriors is beginning to gather pace and The Mail on Sunday reported that a mid-season deal could be agreed in a matter of days.

The 33-year old ex-England winger is seen as a replacement for the injured Melani Nanai, who was ruled out for the remainder of the campaign earlier this month with a hamstring tear.

Former-Newcastle winger Sinoti Sinoti is another name now being rumoured to be on Worcester's target list as the club look to bring in further back-three reinforcements.

The Mail on Sunday say Sinoti was on trial with the club all of last week and could well be lining up for the Warriors very soon.
