BATH Rugby's WILL Chudley has become the third Worcester Warriors signing of the week after he was confirmed as the latest player to sign on the dotted line for next season.

Chudley is the second player to make the move from The Rec to Sixways after Christian Judge, also from Bath, joined on Tuesday.

The experienced 30-year old scrum-half began his career in the Championship with Bedford Blues in 2007 and enjoyed a four year stay at Goldington Road before attracting the attention of Newcastle Falcons' head coach Alan Tait.

It was whilst playing in the 2011 Championship play-off semi-finals against Worcester that the Falcons decided to sign Chudley but after just one season up north, Exeter Chiefs came calling and between 2012 and 2018, he made 120 appearances for Exeter and played a pivotal role in getting them to where they are today.

In the summer of 2018 Chudley signed for west-country rivals Bath Rugby, where he has been since, making 33 appearances in the blue, black and white.

On the announcement, Warriors head coach Jonathan Thomas said: "Will is someone who has really good experience but is also someone who is a leader.

"That is so important for our young players because those guys need good role models to accelerate their development. He will bring value to us on and off the field."

Chudley is the fourth signing ahead of the 2021/22 campaign after Jack Owlett, Judge and Scotland international winger Duhan van der Merwe agreed to moves.

Having been a thorn in the side as an opponent so often in the past, Chudley is excited for the opportunity to wear the Warriors shirt.

“I am looking forward to working with a really exciting coaching group. There is loads of great young talent in the Worcester ranks at the moment and hopefully I can help them on their journey. I’m sure they can help me as well,” Chudley said.

“From speaking with the coaches they are all in synch with each other and they are building something that I want to be part of and that I will enjoy."

“The brand of rugby Warriors have played this season is really exciting and I can’t wait to be part of that.

“I definitely think I will develop my game under these guys which is another massive part of the reason for becoming a Warrior.”
