THE funeral of The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Phillip is being held this Saturday at 3pm following his death last week.

Sporting events up and down the country have been rearranged to ensure respects can be paid properly.

The ECB have confirmed that all nine LV= Insurance County Championship will pause between 2.50-4.10pm on Saturday April 17 to coincide with the service.

Premiership Rugby have also confirmed that the two fixtures on Saturday; Harlequins vs Worcester Warriors and Bristol Bears vs Newcastle Falcons, will be re-arranged due to both games clashing with the funeral.

Both of those games will be moved to different times on Saturday.

As for the FA Vase fixtures this weekend, most of which kicking off at 3pm this Saturday, it is not yet known what will happen.

The Worcester News has received a response from the FA, who have stated that there is no current update on the situation but as soon as there is one, we will be informed.

Malvern Town and Stourport Swifts are due to kick-off at 3pm this Saturday, the same time as the funeral, so given what else has happened, you would expect these kick-off times might also be altered.
