WORCESTER boxer Owen Cooper has signed a deal with legendary promoter Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions.

Cooper will make his Queensberry debut this weekend in his fight on the Denzel Bentley vs Felix Cash undercard that will be shown on BT Sport. His opponent is yet to be announced.

Cooper, 20, trained at Worcester City Amateur Boxing Club and represented England, winning the National Youth Championship title in 2018.

In his professional career he has won all three of his fights but this news will trump the lot as he signs with one of the biggest promoters in the world of boxing.

He said on Instagram: "Happy to announce that I have signed a promotional deal with legendary promoter Frank Warren. I can't thank my management (BCB Promotions) and coach Malcolm Melvin for everything they have done for me and getting me to this point.

"Huge thanks to my amateur coaches Michael Underwood, Harry Butler, Shaun Finn at Worcester City Amateur Boxing Club for years of work they have put into me.

"Can't wait to get to work Saturday night."
