Worcester Warriors’ tighthead prop Richard Palframan will miss the remainder of the season having dislocated a thumb against Wasps at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.

Palframan sustained the injury in the third minute of the Gallagher Premiership match and joins two other tightheads, Nick Schonert (ankle) and Conor Carey (bicep), on the sidelines.

With Carey also ruled out for the remainder of the season, Warriors have decided that former Oxford University tighthead Joe Morris will not join Jersey Reds on loan for the rest of their Greene King IPA Championship campaign. Morris was due to fly to the Channel Islands on Sunday to link up with his Warriors team-mates Scott van Breda, Matti Williams and James Scott who are already on loan at Jersey.

Wales international Scott Andrews, who made his debut as Palframan’s replacement against Wasps, has already arrived at Sixways on loan from Cardiff Blues as injury cover.

Despite being short at tighthead, Worcester are supposedly after a loosehead prop.

Warriors have been linked with a number of names but are still yet to confirm. They have already signed tighthead props Christian Judge and Jack Owlett for next season.
