NEW Dales Vale FC cruised to the Cheltenham Junior Cup trophy as they hit 10-man Whaddon United for six on Tuesday evening.
Rio Janic was the stand out performer as he took home the match ball after scoring a hat-trick following an early red card for United's keeper,
There was little debate around the decision as he handled outside of the area as the last man, leaving the referee with no choice.
An own-goal and strikes from Ryan Upson and David Hadden secured the big win.
An unfortunate own goal put the hosts 1-0 up after 31 minutes before Janic curled in from the edge of the box to put the hosts firmly in the driving seat.
Just before the break, the home side made it 3-0 when Upson bombed forward and poked it around the onrushing 'keeper.
It took until the hour mark before the hosts went 4-0 up but it was worth the wait as Janic turned on the afterburners to stretch away from the defenders and slot into the bottom corner.
By now the final had been decided but Vale weren't done yet and moments later it was five when Hadden beat the keeper to the ball inside the box and side foot into the empty net.
The Whaddon substitute keeper had struggled all day and a shaky punch clear fell to Janic in the box, who reacted quickest to thump the ball home.
Jubilant scenes followed outside the clubhouse as players and coaches celebrated the trophy lift in the sunshine.
Congratulations to them.
