FORMER Worcester Warrior Cornell du Preez has completed his move to French Top 14 side RC Toulonnais.

Rumours had been circling for a while regarding his future at Worcester and now, following his early release from his contract at Sixways this summer, the Scottish international number eight has signed up at the Stade Mayol for the 2021/22 campaign.

The South African born du Preez made 40 appearances for Warriors after joining in 2018 but despite having a year left on his contract, was permitted an early release to join the French giants.

He was one of nine players announced by Toulon on their official twitter page, including Wasps' prop Keiran Brookes and Connacht second-row Quinn Roux.

The back-row forward had struggled for game time in the season just gone with Matt Kvesic being the first team number eight for the majority and players like Tom Dodd and Morgan Monks look to be making the step up from the academy, nudging the Scot down the pecking order.

Wasps' Sione Vailanu will arrive as du Preez' replacement in pre-season, having confirmed his switch from the Ricoh to Sixways back in April.
