WORCESTER City's Aaron Roberts has become the latest Worcester City player to sign a new deal with the club ahead of the 2021/22 non-league football season.

Roberts, who can play in the middle of the park or as a full-back, has been with city since he made the move from Sporting Bromsgrove in 2019.

Last autumn Roberts rejected a move two steps above City to remain with Worcester and is now a big favourite among the supporters.

A Worcester City statement read: "We are delighted to announce that we have agreed a deal with Aaron Roberts ahead of the new season.

"Aaron became a favourite among supporters last season with his committed performances and is chomping at the bit to get going once again."

The club also confirmed that striker Marco Adaggio and back-up goalkeeper Gabriel Bajrami have left.

Adaggio was another player that won over City fans' hearts during his time with the club.

The pocket-rocket goal-poacher enjoyed two successful stints with Worcester, first between 2008-2010, in which he scored 24 goals in 83 appearances, and then 2019 until today.

Before his second spell at the club, he was bagging plenty of goals across non-league, including 37 goals for Highgate United in the 2017-18 season and 48 goals in 60 matches at Hinckley AFC before that.

He was less prolific the second time around but no doubt will be missed by all involved with City.
