Worcester Warriors have revealed their pre-season plans.

Warriors fans will get their first glimpse of the club’s 14 new signings in September with two pre-season matches at Sixways announced.

The club revealed they will welcome United Rugby Championship side’s Connacht and Glasgow Warriors on Friday September 3 and Friday September 4 respectively, both matches kicking off at 7:45pm.

The games will be the first at Sixways since March 6 2020 and there is expected to be no restrictions on the number of supporters allowed.

Worcester’s new stars include British and Irish Lions pair Duhan Van Der Merwe and Rory Sutherland, who will both be familiar with Glasgow having played for local rivals Edinburgh before making the move down south.

The game will be made even more exciting by the return of Duncan Weir, who departed Sixways after three years at the club, joining Glasgow back in January.

It will be the first time Glasgow come to Sixways and Worcester will repay the favour, visiting Scotstoun in 2022.

Other new international recruits include Wales hooker Scott Baldwin, former Wales fly-half Owen Williams, England international scrum-half Willi Heinz and Tonga number eight Sione Vailanu.

The games could also see home debuts for Gallagher Premiership players Matt Garvey, Will Chudley and Christian Judge who each joined the club this year.

Connacht have visited Sixways twice before in the European Challenge Cup with Warriors winning on both occasions, in the 2005/06 and 2017/18 seasons.

Worcester Warriors will cap off their pre-season campaign with an away day to Cornish Pirates on September 11, a 5pm kick-off.

Warriors have never lost in three previous visits to the Mennaye Field, the last 69-8 thrasing in April 2015.

Worcester get their Gallagher Premiership season underway against London Irish at Sixways on Saturday September 18, 3pm kick-off.

Ticket details for the home pre-season matches will be announced shortly.
