WARRIORS back-row forward Caleb Montgomery has joined Greene King IPA Championship side Cornish Pirates on loan.
Montgomery joined Warriors from Ulster Rugby two years ago and has made five senior appearances during his time at Sixways.
With no Premiership Rugby Cup last season and no Premiership Rugby Shield last season and this, Montgomery’s opportunities for game time have been limited.
“This is a good opportunity for Caleb. Because of COVID-19 there has been no Premiership Rugby Cup or Shield over the last 18 months and this gives Caleb to get some valuable game time,” said Warriors Head Coach Jonathan Thomas.
“We are grateful to Pirates for giving Caleb this opportunity. They are a well-coached side, we have an excellent relationship with them and the Championship is a tough league for a forward.”
Montgomery will make his debut for Pirates in Friday’s pre-season friendly against the Royal Navy at the Mennaye Field in Penzance.
Last season Warriors centre Will Butler enjoyed a successful loan spell at Pirates and tighthead prop Jay Tyack was recruited by Warriors from Pirates in time for him to make his debut against Leicester Tigers at Sixways in May.
