WORCESTER Raiders' have confirmed that co-manager Chris Cornes has left his role in charge of the club.

Cornes leaves just seven games into the new 2021/22 season, with Raiders having won five of those games.

A club statement read: "The club will always be grateful to Chris for the part he played in securing Raiders’ promotion to the West Midlands Premier Division in 2019 and we wish him well for the future."

Club captain, Danny Flowers, has come out on Twitter to suggest chairman Steve Harris has "pushed" manager Cornes out of the club.

Other players have also taken to social media to give their thoughts. It doesn't seem to be a decision that has gone down well at all.

Midfielder Kyle Belmonte came out in support of his fellow manager.
