ALVECHURCH's impressive form of late continued last weekend as they made it three wins on the bounce with a late 2-1 win at home to Barwell.

Church are now just three points off the play-offs as their undefeated run stretched to five in the Southern League Premier Central.

They fell behind to a Tristan Dunkley goal in the 14th minute but Tyrell Hamilton levelled matters before the break.

It was looking like the points were going to be shared but Jamie Willets' header seven minutes from time secured all three points and keeps their winning run going.

Elsewhere in the division, the new era at Stourbridge FC started in the best possible way as new managers Leon Broadhurst and Stuart Pierpoint took to the sidelines for the first time in watching their side beat Lowestoft Town 3-0.

Darryl Knights opened the scoring for The Glassboys in the 15th minute before two goals in two minutes in the second-half sealed a comfortable win.

Montel Gibson netted 16 minutes from time with a low strike inside the box before Reece Styche made it three a minute later.

Having struggled desperately to begin the 2021/22 campaign, Stour have won back-to-back league games for the first time this season and are up to 12th in the table.

Redditch United haven't won a league game since early September and that poor form continued at the weekend as they slipped to a 3-1 defeat at home to Nuneaton Borough.

Goals from Ryan Edmunds and Carl Baker had Borough 2-0 up at the break but United pulled one back through Dennis Digie to make it interesting before a late third from the visitors' Danny King sealed the three points.

Redditch stay in 14th, just a point above the relegation zone.

Bromsgrove Sporting were comprehensively beaten 4-0 by league leaders Peterborough Sports.

Into the Southern League Division One and Evesham United ended their winless run with a 3-1 home victory over Plymouth Parkway.

Callum Ebanks scored two and Bradon Smalley produced a moment of brilliance with a volley as the hosts returned to winning ways.

Into the Midland Football League and Stourport Swifts produced one of their best performances of the season to date with a narrow 1-0 victory over high-flying Lye Town.

The visitors were top of the table only last week but came unstuck against a resolute Swifts side, who had Joe Hanson to thank for his 70th minute winner.

It was just the second win of the season for Stourport, who jump up to 15th in the table.

Worcester City were victorious in their FA Vase first-round clash with Lutterworth Town. Bailey Fuller and Will Gibbons scored for City and despite a late goal for the visitors through Louis Samuels, it was a comfortable afternoon for the hosts, who are into the second-round draw.

Elsewhere in the county, Malvern Town missed the chance to reduce the deficit to the league leaders at the top of the Hellenic League Premier.

They could only manage a 1-1 draw with Fairford Town.

In Division One, Worcester Raiders lost 5-2 at home to Cheltenham Saracens.
