Worcestershire bowler Dillon Pennington is to get a rare taste of captaincy in Australia.

The pacebowler will lead Adelaide CC on Saturday as they face Kensington in a South Australia Cricket Association first grade match at the Glandore Oval.

After three and a half months off, Pennington eased his way back into action last weekend, bowling four overs and hitting 34 in a second-grade match.

Pennington is set to spend two months with Adelaide, who currently find themselves 12th in the 13-team table.

Elsewhere, Worcestershire batsman Jack Haynes is set to make his debut for Green Point CC this weekend.

The South African side compete in the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) Premier League, having won promotion from the first division in 2019-2020.

The 2020-2021 iteration of the tournament was cancelled due to the pandemic, but Haynes will be looking to impress as Green Point travel to Rondesbosch CC in hope of establishing themselves in the top-flight.

The WPCA, the governing body for cricket in Cape Town, this week hosted the third and final test between South Africa and India, played at Newlands.

The Proteas won by seven wickets, with Keegan Petersen putting in two impressive innings with the bat.
