WORCESTER City have been dealt yet another injury blow as midfielder and star man Billy Shaw is likely to be out for at least a month.

The on-loan playmaker only returned from his latest injury in the defeat to Shifnal Town last weekend, before he was withdrawn in the same game with another problem.

And now manager Tim Harris has revealed he is likely to spend another period on the sidelines, alongside centre half Fortune Maphosa.

"Fortune is out and now Billy looks like he will be out for four or five weeks," he said.

"That's why we had to make changes the other night as it gets difficult when the games are coming thick and fast.

"Bailey Fuller is currently playing with a bit of a hamstring issue and James Douglas has a calf and ankle problem that he is playing with."

Despite those concerns, Worcester City did manage to hold out for a much needed win against Uttoxeter Town on Tuesday night.

Having lost their last two back-to-back in the Midland Football League Premier, it was a much needed three points.

The result put them back into fifth position, the final play-off place and will hopefully spring City back into a winning run.

"It was needed, let's not beat around the bush," added Harris.

"We have had a few reversals in recent weeks and we haven't played very well

"But the important thing was that we got the result, it doesn't matter how you get it sometimes.

"We had to make a few changes and I thought Curtis Smith was very good, did really well.

"Ben Tilbury also impressed me and the more these newer guys get to know everyone the better it will be for all of us and they will add plenty of value.

"It wasn't spectacular but we got the three points and that was what we needed."

Worcester head to Stone Old Alleynians this weekend as they look to build on the positive mid-week result.

Plenty of those sides in and around the play-off places are going head to head this weekend so there is a chance for Worcester to take advantage against a side who sit in 11th.
