WORCESTER City have been hit with a major blow as midfielder Billy Shaw has been ruled out of the rest of the season after further aggravating a recurring back problem.

Shaw returned from a couple of months out during last weekend's defeat at Lye Town but the club confirmed a further set-back now means he will not feature again in the 2021/22 campaign.

Shaw was signed on loan by Tim Harris at the start of the season from Halesowen Town and it could well turn out that he has played his last game in a Worcester City shirt as it is unknown whether or not he will stay with the club.

In other injury news, centre half Sam Hall has suffered a significant injury that has required a scan, but the results are not yet conclusive on his time out.

Midfielder Bekir Halil was injured during the week in training and is out for an unknown period, although it is not thought to be too serious at this stage.

Jake Whitehouse has started light training after a long term injury but it is not thought he will feature before the end of the season.

In more positive news, Bobbie Dale, who suffered a double leg break in pre-season, is showing positive signs of a return to football.

There is a hope he might well play some part in the final games of the campaign.

Ahead of their derby clash with Bewdley Town this afternoon, they will be without Fortune Maphosa through suspension and on-loan Kidderminster Harriers striker Jude Hill, who has a groin strain.
