WORCESTER Raiders' hopes of promotion to Step 5 were ended at the final hurdle as Hereford Pegasus won 3-0 at Sixways.

An opening goal inside 30 seconds gave Pegasus the advantage as striker Richard Greaves touched the ball in off the post from a free-kick.

A long throw into the box then caused confusion for the Raiders defence and right-back Matt James flicked a header past the onrushing Ewan Mountjoy to double the lead in the 26th minute.

Raiders pushed in the second-half but they did not test former keeper Matt Gwynne enough and the visitors sealed their promotion in the final minute as Greaves headed home from Saul Thomas' deflected strike.
