The future looks bright for Worcester City Youth after its youngest age group won the Nerf Junior Premier League Spring Championship.

City's Under 8s travelled down to Rectory Park in Middlesex, where they beat Forza Bradford 10-2.

Commenting on the win and his squad's progression, manager Lewis Osman-Moore said: "I'm massively proud of the team this season - we have continuously improved throughout the year and it was amazing for the boys to win a trophy.

"We had a slow start but that was only to be expected being a brand new team which had just been formed but the boys have always played with smiles on their faces, improved game by game and produced fantastic football.

"It was brilliant for them to lift a trophy and to see how much it meant to them. As a coach, I couldn't ask for any more and I can't wait for next season to help them further develop."

Worcester City Youth is hoping to find the next group of players to follow in the footsteps of the Under 8s when it stages its trials for the 2022/23 season this month for its youngest age group up to the Reserves.

The trial dates are on Saturday, May 14 for the under 8,9,10 and 11s age group at Perdiswell Leisure Centres, Saturday May 21 (at Perdiswell) for under 12 girls, under 13 and 14 boys and May 29 (Claines Lane) for Under 14, 15, 16 girls, under 18 boys and the Reserves.
