PERSHORE 1st XI and Stourport-on-Severn 1st XI continue to lead the way in the Premier Division after both maintaining their one hundred per cent records with their fifth victories at the weekend.

Leaders Pershore 1st XI made the trip to the Parks and walked away with a comfortable six wickets victory against Brockhampton 1st XI whilst Stourport-on-Severn 1st XI beat Old Hill 1st XI by a four wicket margin at Haden Hill.

Elsewhere in the division Astwood Bank 1st XI climbed in to third position with a victory over Bromyard 1st XI and Stourbridge 1st XI decimated visitors Colwall 1st XI at the War Memorial Ground.

Droitwich Spa 1st XI beat Redditch 1st XI at St. Peter’s Field to go fifth and finally, Old Elizabethans 1st XI made it back-to back wins after a four wicket win over Ombersley 2nd XIs at the Main Road Ground.

In the top of the table clash in Division One, Usman Azeem (78) and Abu Saeed (64) both compiled first innings half centuries to help Chaddesley Corbett CC 1st XI march to the top after comprehensively beating this seasons front runners Barnt Green 2nd XI by a wide margin at Longmore.

Lye 1st XI are now second after they maintained their one hundred per cent record by compiling over three hundred in the first innings which proved too many for Pedmore 1st XI to chase.

Worcester Nomads 1st XI captain Ollie Ranscombe (93*) was the main protagonist in a wide margin win at Seth Somers Park against Halesowen 2nd XI.

In other matches, after a poor start to the season Coombs Wood 1st XI moved up to fifth place when they chased down Bewdley 1st XIs first innings total to win by three wickets at Stewarts Road.

Hagley 1st XI continued their up-turn in form by making it three wins in the last three matches by beating basement side Worcester 2nd XI.

Oldswinford 1st XI climbed out of the bottom two at the expense of Kidderminster 2nd XI who they beat by eight wickets at Albemarle Road to gain their first win of the season.

Himley opened up a twenty point gap at the top of Division Two as they produced an excellent second innings batting performance to beat Cookley 1st XI by eight wickets.

The team chasing them, Astwood Bank 2nd XI, had A Robinson (70*) to thanks after he compiled an unbeaten second innings half century in a six wicket win against Burghill, Tillington and Weobley 1st XI.

Elsewhere, first innings half centuries from Lewis Baines (71*), Anil Ram (67) and Alex Larkins (58) helped Harborne 3rd XI move back in to fourth place after their first innings total proved to many for a visiting Bredon 1st XI.

Adam Davies (6-24) returned excellent second innings figures for Bartestree & Lugwardine 1st XI who moved up in to fifth after beating visitors Alvechurch & Hopwood 1st XI who drop from third to sixth.

Bromsgrove 2nd XI compiled a huge first innings total in their comprehensive win against Himbleton 1st XI at St. Godswalds Park and Belbroughton 1st XI won their second match of the season when Geoff Day (69*) helped secure a seven wicket victory against Enville 1st XI.

In Division Three, leading run sorer Robert Wilson (61) continued his prolific early season form to take his run tally over the four hundred run mark in leaders Barnards Green 2nd XI seven wicket victory against Brockhampton 2nd XI at North End Lane.

Their fifth victory in a row keeps them twelve points ahead of second placed Netherton 1st XI who beat third placed Stourbridge 2nd XI by three wickets at Highbridge Road to open up a sixteen point gap to the chasing pack.

Old Elizabethans 2nd XI missed the chance to move up the table and remain one point behind Stourbridge 2nd XI in fourth after losing to Old Vigornians 1st XI for whom Milan Lalani (138) scored an impressive first innings century on debut.

Redditch 2nd XI were another team that failed to take the opportunity to progress and sit two points further back after losing to Feckenham 1st XI who stopped their losing streak to win by two wickets at Bromsgrove Road.

In other matches in the division, two teams who gained their second wins of the season were Avoncroft 1st XI and Martley 1st XI, who beat Old Hill 2nd XI and Coombs Wood 2nd XI respectively.

In Division Four, newly promoted West Malvern 1st are top after continuing their impressive start to the season with a four wicket victory against Five Ways Old Edwardians 1st XI at the Masshouse.

Adnan Wahid (125) helped Romsley & Hunnington 1st XI post an impressive first innings total against second placed Stourport-on-Severn 2nd XI but a fine second innings century from David Pittaway (158*) helped the home team chase down the target.

Netherton 2nd XI ensured they kept up with the pace to remain level on points with Stourport-on-Severn 2nd XI in third place after beating Bromsgrove 3rd XI by five wickets at the Hedges Ground.

Elsewhere in the division, three teams posted their third wins of the season to keep themselves within striking distance of the top three. Lye 2nd XI feasted on the Rushwick 1st XI attack to post over three hundred in the first innings to ensure a comfortable victory by well over one hundred runs.

Claverley 1st XI made the trip to Norton Barracks and walked away with a hard earned three wicket win against basement side Worcester 2nd XI and finally Chaddesley Corbett 2nd XI beat Eastnor 1st XI by 95 runs.
