LOCAL rugby club Worcester RFC have revealed that another Warriors legend from across the road at Sixways will join the coaching team.

The amateur neighbours are currently run by former fan favourite scrum half Jonny Arr but he will now be joined by club legend Aleki Lutui.

The 43-year-old hooker racked up 181 appearances for Warriors between 2006 and 2013 before moving to Edinburgh and then Gloucester.

He has since been playing for Championship side Ampthill, where he played over 150 games for the second-tier club.

He now joins forces again once more with Arr having played alongside him for a number of years whilst at Warriors.

"I’m delighted to be joining the Worcester coaching staff," said Lutui.

"The opportunity to come here and help my former teammate Johnny to develop the players we have is something I'm really looking forward to.

"We want to try bring the boys together so there’s want and desire to be involved in training and to represent this club.

"I can't wait to get going this summer with a pre-season as we build towards the start of the 2022/23 campaign."

Club Chairman Steve Lloyd added: "It's exciting times at Worcester RFC as we are delighted to welcome Aleki Lutui to our coaching set up.

"His massive wealth of knowledge and experience can only be a huge asset to the club.

"He joins Jonny Arr's coaching team in what is a powerhouse of Premiership know how. It’s very exciting to see how the pre-season will develop and as the teams start to shape up for the new season.

"Malo e lelei and Talitali fiefia Aleki!"
