WORCESTER City FC's final preseason game ended in a 1-1 draw with local side Redditch United FC.

The goals were scored in the first half of the game, under some rainy conditions

Worcester travelled to the Trico Stadium in Redditch for the 3pm kickoff.

Redditch started the game brightly, with an early chance from Mensah who got through on goal but had the chance saved.

Worcester fought back with a whipped-in cross from Debar which found the head of Sean Brain but was headed over the goal.

Redditch ended up taking the lead in the eleventh minute, with an attack from the left.

Louis Hudson's shot hit the post and the bounce rebounded off of the goalkeeper into the back of the net.

Redditch also had a couple more chances from free kicks towards the end of the first half which did not amount to anything.

Worcester kept pushing and equalised before the halftime whistle from a thunderous 25-yard strike from Sean Brain.

The ball hit the crossbar and rebounded into the Redditch goal from the back of their goalkeeper.

In the second half, no goals were scored but both clubs maintained a high intensity, seeing several chances for both sides.

Redditch defender, Osadchyi, received a talk from the referee after a hard foul on Worcester's Taylor-Randle early in the second half.

The goalscorer, Sean Brain, played the ball to Demetri Brown inside the Redditch box narrowly missing the goal in the 52nd minute.

Another chance came when City won a free kick from the right after a foul on Demetri Brown.

Douglas delivered the ball towards Roberts on the far side, and despite getting a head on it, the Redditch goalkeeper was able to keep the chance out in the 63rd minute.

During the pre-season tour, Worcester also played Moreton Rangers, Halesowen Town, Bishops Cleeve, Cinderford Town, Goytre AFC and Nuneaton Borough.

Worcester's next game will be the official kick-off for the 2022-23 season against Malvern Town FC in the Emirates FA Cup.
