Worcester City Women's head coach has left the club to join Premier League outfit Fulham FC.

Jodie Williams will join the West London club's women's team in September, taking on a full-time coaching position.

Williams joined Worcester City in July 2021, having been at Wolves Women Development Team.

"I am really sad to be leaving Worcester City Women FC at such an exciting time," said Williams.

"Last season being the head coach in a new club was a fantastic experience which I have thoroughly enjoyed and learnt so much from.

"I leave in good spirits and I will miss working with the staff and players a lot, but hope to return one day in the future and will certainly track the progress and success I know the club is going to make!

"The club has come so far already and you can really see something special is being built here."

In her new role at Fulham, Williams will oversee the club's pathway and under-18s, as well as working with the first team.

Fulham Women currently compete in the London and South East Women's Regional Football League.

In their opening match of the campaign, on Sunday August 21, the first team beat Sutton United 2-1 thanks to goals from Ellie Olds and Helen Ogle.

City meanwhile do not return to competitive action until September 4, when they face Burton Albion Ladies.

Worcester Women's executive director, Nicole Allison, praised Williams for her work at the club and wished her all the best for the future.

She said: "We would like to thank Jodie for her dedication to the club since joining us and congratulate her on her new role and fantastic opportunity with Fulham.

"Jodie has played a big part in progressing the club forward and made a big impact in a short space of time and everyone at the club wishes her all the best."
