WORCESTER City's search for their first win of the season will continue tomorrow as football returns following the three day break as a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Thursday.

The sport was postponed all over the country from Friday until Monday but now games will take place again and City are straight into action as they host local rivals Bewdley Town to Claines Lane (7.45pm kick-off).

Tim Harris' men sit bottom of the Midland Football League Premier Division with four defeats from their opening five matches, with only the point at Atherstone to show so far.

"Much has been said about our poor start to the season and no excuses can be applied," said manager Harris.

"We have a group of players that are very talented and more than capable and I am shocked to see us where we are. We will get this right, and hopefully, have a break where something goes for us and we start to gain that winning feeling.

"We certainly owe the supporters a good performance, and we hope they can make some noise tomorrow. We are determined to give them something to cheer.

"I am really looking forward to playing a home game tomorrow evening. The pitch here at Claines Lane is as good as I have seen it since I joined the club.

"Paul Loader, the groundsman has put in a shift, that’s for sure, and the investment made by the board is beginning to show dividends.

"Let's just see how it fares when we get in the depths of winter but credit where credit is due."

There will be some familiar faces in the visiting squad tomorrow, as they now have the likes of Kyonn Evans, Jordan Stoddart and Will Gibbons in their side, that is managed by former Raiders boss Chris Cornes.
